These photo show the conditions under which these animals had to exsist.
On November 27/2001 the three New Brunswick SPCA animal Protection officers, and three officers from the Belledune detachment of the RCMP raided a residence in Doyleville NB, in connection with the running of "puppy Mill" operation. There were 61 dogs and two cats removed from a Mini barn and shed on the premises.
The owner of the animals, who lives in Campbellton, was charged under the criminal code of Canada for willful neglect, or failing to provide suitable and adequate food, and or water, shelter, and or care of these animals.
The animals, whose numbers swelled to over 100 with subsequent births, were all adopted to loving homes
The Restigouche County SPCA would like to thank all of the people and organizations that went above and beyond in helping to shut down the puppy mill. I can't name them all here because I will certainly forget someone. Special thanks to the families that took the more needy dogs into thier homes on a temporary basis, the Bathurst SPCA, the district 9 RCMP, and the New Brunswick SPCA..
On August 12, Nick Levesque plead guilty and was fined 500 dollars and prohibited from owning animals for two years. See the photos below!!
